On the afternoon of August 13th KST, YGE made an announcement regarding the two members’ upcoming solo albums. Read the translation of the full statement below.
Hello. This is YG Entertainment.
We would like to give you a quick update on future plans for WINNER members Song Minho and Kang Seungyoon’s new music.
Song Minho’s solo album is set to be released this coming October.
It is not a single album or a mini album, but rather a full-length official album filled with over 10 songs. Because of the size of a project like this, it has taken a longer time to finalize than originally ecpected, and Minho is currently focusing on the final stages of recording the album.
After putting into consideration the different projects and music video shoot that will take place through the rest of the year, we anticipate that the solo album will be announce around mid-October.
And of course, Kang Seungyoon is currently invested in filming MBC’s new mini-series ‘Kairos’, which is set to air in October. He is doing everything he can in order to show his great abilities as an actor. he is simultaneously dividing up his busy schedule to work on his solo whenever he can, as much as he can.
Because the shooting for his drama and the work on his music have overlapped, it is difficult to predict exactly when he will be able to share his album. However, both members have expressed their desire to release full-length albums, and as YG respects, supports, and considers the opinions and wishes of their artists to be utmost importance, we are doing everything we can to make the autumn releases possible.
YG is always respectfully listening to the voices of the fans, and we are always trying to offer a wide and endless amount of support. We would like to say a sincere thank you to all the fans whose love and affection and anticipation remain unchanged, and we would also like to ask for you to continue to cheer on Kim Jinwoo and Lee Seunghoon, who are serving their military duties since April after the release of WINNER’s thrid official album, ‘REMEMBER’.
