[OSEN=최나영 기자] YG Entertainment (YG) received nine awards at the iF DESIGN AWARD 2016, one of the three most prestigious design awards in the world.
Germany’s iF DESIGN AWARD is considered to be one of the most presitigious design awards along with Germany’s RED DOT DESIGN AWARD and the US’ IDEA. Last year in March, Samsung’s curved UHD TV was awarded an iF award.
YG Design Lab won nine iF awards for EPIK HIGH “SHOEBOX” album package design, EPIK HIGH “FEAST” album package design, TAEYANG 2ND ALBUM “RISE” album package design, iKON “WELCOME BACK” album package design, iKON DEBUT branding design, WINNER WWIC 2015 CONCERT branding design, YG FAMILY CONCERT LIVE CD package design, WINNER SEASON’S GREETING DVD package design, and YG X WOORI BANK package design in the categories of album design, package design, and branding design.
YG have won several design awards so far. It won the Guideline Documents category at the BRAND NEW AWARD 2012, the Graphics / Identity / Packing category at the GOOD DESIGN AWARD 2013, and the Communication Design category at the iF DESIGN AWARD 2014.
In 2015, YG won five awards at the RED DOT DESIGN AWARD for WINNER’s debut branding in the communication category and for 2NE1’s 2nd album “CRUSH”, TAEYANG’s 2nd album “RISE”, and with YG FAMILY CONCERT IN SEOUL LIVE CD and YG X WOORI BANK collaboration in the package design category.
By winning prestigious awards, YG has gained recognition for its creative designs and brand power. It is indeed making a name for itself in the design area.
