[머니투데이 스타뉴스 이지현 기자] Boy band Big Bang (G-Dragon, Top, Taeyang, Seungri, and Dae Sung)’s member Taeyang (birth name Dong Young Bae), who has recently come back as a solo singer, drew attention by mentioning the trainees who appeared in “WHO IS NEXT:WIN”(“WIN”), YG Entertainment’s survival audition show for selection of the company’s new boy band.
In an interview in the afternoon on the 11 at a café located in Mapo-gu, Seoul, Taeyang said, “I don’t watch TV that much, but I kept my eyes on “WIN” members. I couldn’t but doing so, since I was near them and had to advise them.”
He went on to say, “They reminded me of the initial resolution that I had when I was a trainee. While I gave them words of advice, I myself learned a lot, too.”
To a question “How did you feel about the selection of Team A (Gang Seung Yoon, Lee Seung Hoon, Song Min Ho, Kim Jin Woo, and Nam Tae Hyun) as the winner to make debut?”, Taeyang answered, “I was touched, and frankly, I think that was the right decision, considering various circumstances.”
“WIN” was a show that depicted the 10-week process of selecting the members of “WINNER”, YG’s new boy band to be formed seven years after Big Bang’s debut. “WINNER” was selected by viewers’ vote for performance on the final battle stage which was held on the 25 last month at Olympic Park SK Handball Hall, located in Songpa-Gu, Seoul.
