YG rookie artist Kang Seung Yoon will take a new challenge as rock artist, will it work?
It’s Day-1 before Kang Seung Yoon debut with “Wild and Young”. Kang Seung Yoon has become attention after become a finalist of ‘Super Star K2′ back on 2010. After 2,5 years training, Kang Seung Yoon finally to debut as a solo singer. Previously, Kang Seung Yoon’s pre-released song “It Rains” has gained a lot of attention. “It Rains” spotted in several music chart.

Strength : Kang Seung Yoon already had his own fandom
The strength of fandom in Kpop music industry is surely obvious. As the upcoming artist from one of the biggest agency in Korea, Kang Seung Yoon immediatly built a fandom right before his debut. But right before his debut under YG Entertainment, Kang Seung Yoon already had his own fandom. This fandom was start to built after his audition program back in 2010. Even the time passed by, he can still communicate with his fans through his appearance on “High Kick 3″. This fandom is proven through the ‘all-kill’ status for his pre-release song “It Rains”.
Weakness : He is the first YG rock artist
YG Entertainment already had much experience to debut several singers and swap the chart. As much as fans’ power, YG also knew how to fit the industry well. The problem now is the genre. Kang Seung Yoon is debut with “Wild and Young” in the rock genre. This genre is chosen to express his desire but it’s kinda new to YG who majorly done a hip-hop single. This is the challenge for YG and Kang Seung Yoon to make fans enjoy “Wild and Young” another.
Opportunity : “It Rains” made a successful debut
Kang Seung Yoon’s pre-release song “It Rains” successfully debut in Korean music industry. This is an opportunity and yet burdensome for Kang Seung Yoon. Now people start to pay attention to him and want to see his fully rock side. YG Yang Hyun Suk also previously stated,“Kang Seung Yoon will show a cool vocal and harmonize well in strong rock genre song ‘Wild and Young’ to hot your summer.” He has exposed the high expectations for it. “Wild and Young” will be release along with mini album.
Threat : Girl group war
Kang Seung Yoon is debut in never-ending girl group war start for May to July. A huge number of singers keep making their comeback without rest and thanks to new music industry, it’s now all become battlefield. Everyday there’s a high class singer who actively promote new song and raised on the chart. YG have to put much attention over it. On July 30th, f(x)’s ‘Rum Pum Pum Pum’ still on the first place. In addition, Ailee’s ‘U&I’, APink’s ‘NoNoNo’, BEG’s ‘Kill Bill’ and several girls group are on the chart as well. The music industy become a boom in the summer, especially girl group.
But still we have to wait and see Kang Seung Yoon’s mini album “Wild and Young” first. Kang Seung Yoon will release his title track tomorrow on July 31th.
